The fact that A Perfect Circle are definitely back and as wonderful as ever. The band performed live on the Kimmy Kimmel Show last night. They performed 4 songs in total, only which one and a half were televised. They sounded as tight as ever and Matt McJunkins seems to be filling in well as the new bassist.

Setlist

Weak and Powerless
Imagine
Passive
Judith

Watch the performances of Weak and Powerless and Imagine here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqcbnsv0o0U

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLWqHazvYGA

Nick Sixx.http://www.blogger.com/profile/16113965499816516392noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4695118792227630630.post-87309477619096461242010-10-05T15:41:00.000-07:002010-10-05T15:48:50.626-07:00New Gorillaz Single - DoncamaticThe Gorillaz will be debuting a single from their new album this afternoon on BBC Radio. Some of the
songs were inspired by the author's photographs; others inspired photographs of
their own.

This Is Gonna Hurt will include more than two dozen of the
author's images. He will incorporate the stories behind the pictures and how
they came to be, including interviews with the subjects so readers can see "what
life is like for those whom society has labeled as freaks."

"I've always
had an eye for the oddities in life. Even as a kid I saw the world in my own way
and thought most things that were different were beautiful and magical. It is a
collection of compelling snapshots and stories that capture the rage, love,
optimism, darkness, and determination that shape his work. Told with the raw
authenticity that defined his New York Times bestseller The Heroine Diaries,
This Is Gonna Hurt chronicles Sixx's experience, from his early years filled
with toxic waste to his success with Motley Crue, his death from an OD and
rebirth to his addictions to music, photography, and love.

Love story,
bad-ass rock tell-all, social commentary, family memoir, This Is Gonna Hurt
offers the compelling insights of an artist and a man struggling to survive,
connect, and find a happy ending--a search that fuels Sixx's being. "I want to
take you on the journey I am on, in real time," Sixx writes. "If you don't deal
with your demons, they will deal with you, and it's gonna hurt."

http://www.sleazeroxx.com/news10/0904six.shtmlNick Sixx.http://www.blogger.com/profile/16113965499816516392noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4695118792227630630.post-62630779688553071432010-09-19T18:27:00.000-07:002010-09-19T18:36:16.302-07:00Radiohead News - New Album CompletionWell it seems that a year's worth of hard work for the almighty Radiohead has news to deliver now.

According to a new essay by Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood for UK
organization Index on Censorship, the band "have just finished another group of
songs, and have begun to wonder about how to release them in a digital landscape
that has changed again." This includes Les Claypool, Larry LeLonde and Jay Lane (the original drummer before the massively popular and talented Tim Alexander).

The band reformed in Spring 2010 and evidently did live rehearsals in June. Luckily the band has been nice enough to give us a taste of their work before heading out on Tour later this year by offering a free 4 track EP of the rehearsals for download on their official webite, details below.

June 2010 Rehearsals EP

Pudding Time
American Life
Duchess And The Proverbial Mind Spread
Harold of the Rocks

http://www.primusville.com/Nick Sixx.http://www.blogger.com/profile/16113965499816516392noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4695118792227630630.post-6831438392702979072010-08-05T16:30:00.000-07:002010-08-06T19:44:47.138-07:00Soundgarden to release Retrospective Album

Latest news of the newly reformed Soundgarden, reports that the band is set to release a new retrospective compilation album entitled Telephantasm on September 28th, 2010. Official word of this article from the official Soundgarden twitter:

It is with great pleasure that we can finally let you all know what we have been working on. On September 28th, we will be releasing a new retrospective called Telephantasm. It includes songs from all of our albums and E.P's, including "Black Rain", an unreleased track from the Badmotorfinger sessions. Plus, we are releasing our first ever DVD which will include never before seen video's, and much more.

We have partnered with Guitar Hero 6 to launch Telephantasm simultaneously with the launch of the new game. With Keenan being pre-occupied with Puscifer and Tool and Howerdel with ASHES dIVIDE for a few years it seemed as if A Perfect Circle's hiatus was more or less its demise but fear not, talk of new endeavors and work is on the rise. Comments and news updates point to following initial news outlets from each musician's current musical projects until recently. Much debate and talk of getting a lone twitter account transferred from someone of no official affiliation of the band has finally been achieved and activated. It seems as if A Perfect Circle is reborn. Be on the lookout for any news regarding the project. Be sure to check back here for the latest news on the band!

Josh Freese, the last drummer of APC, posted this on his Facebook:

I'm happy to report that A Perfect Circle is waking up from it's 6 year slumber...and we're going to be "doing stuff" soon.

Billy Howerdel from Twitter hints at Fall release?:

APC is on my mind. This is me officially telling you that things are happening!
Stay tuned for more info. The fall is right around the corner....
Also judging from a recent tweet, it looks like we have these guys on board for the lineup:

Maynard James Keenan (Vocals)

Billy Howerdel (Guitar/Vocals)

Troy Van Leeuwen (Guitar)

Danny Lohner (???)

Josh Freese (Drums)

Matt McJunkins (Bass)

Jeff Pazen (Artwork)

http://www.twitter.com/aperfectcircle
http://www.aperfectcircle.com/

Nick Sixx.http://www.blogger.com/profile/16113965499816516392noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4695118792227630630.post-39961788539963784922010-08-03T10:15:00.000-07:002010-08-03T10:31:39.897-07:00Review #2 - Lady GaGa's The Remix

This little mini LP compilation between The Fame Monster and the Lady's untitled third album is a good club pleaser.

Things to know - Several editions of this exist (each with different tracks and artwork); it serves as a remix album/best of compilation; my review is for the physical edition of the album availible in the United States.

Anyways my review shall begin. The album offers a few remixes that are 'fan and club goer favorites' mixed by some of the best and current DJs and electronic music groups on the scene today. Such remixers are: Richard Vission, Passion Pit, Chew Fu and Stuart price among others.

The good thing about this compilation is the fact that the tracks included all feature a completely different tempo and style for each track as well as a few unreleased, official remixes not availible for download or on singles (LoveGame Chew Fu Ghettohouse Fix feat Marilyn Manson & Dance In The Dark Monarchy 'Stylites' Remix). I'm also pleasantly surprised that the compilation features remixes by artists whom don't get nearly enough attention as they should, I'm looking at Chew Fu in particular.

Overall it's a fun listen, danceable and a decent tide over until GaGa's third LP, which is due out in sometime early 2011.

Rating - 8/10 (Good selection of tracks but nothing much new to be heard songwise)

Check Out - LoveGame (Chew Fu Ghettohouse Fix feat. Though today they released their full length third album, The Suburbs. I bought the album today along with Lady GaGa's The Remix (which a review will be in a later blog).

The album is rich in sound and different tones to underline each song. I feel their song writing is at their best on this album, it certainly has no filler tracks and I found that the flow from song to song in the tracklisting to be quite complimentary. Certain tracks do indeed stick out more than others, but that the case with most albums by any artist. The band chose a good, strong single to be the initial single for the album; the very involved title track. It has a great structure and a catchy chorus. Arcade Fire has always been good at doing that and this album shows it. It has some outstanding tracks and most have a good sound key to the album's tone. Good work, I'm loving this album right now.

Not much is needed to be talked of with this album other than it was worth the money and if you're into a soundscape of different guitar signatures and various genre stylings than this album is for you. I really enjoyed it. I wish I could put into words more of how I feel about it but it is difficult after only listening to it once thus far. Maybe I'll revisit this review later on in the future? Before I close this (and every other review from here on out) I will leave a rating out of 10 and offer my idea for signature, key songs to listen to.

Rating - 10/10 (Contender of Album of the Year for me along a few other notable albums!)

Check out - The Suburbs, Modern Man, Suburban War and Month of May
Nick Sixx.http://www.blogger.com/profile/16113965499816516392noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4695118792227630630.post-3183018885694787732010-08-02T18:19:00.000-07:002010-08-02T18:38:51.883-07:00Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Deluxe 2 Re-release InformationSo it seems that Rob Zombie's latest effort Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and The Systematic Dehumanization of Cool is primed for a re-release by Roadrunner Records (Zombie's current label) on September 28th, 2010.

The album is set to feature new artwork (pictured below), 4 bonus tracks (recorded with current drummer Joey Jordison), a dvd with two videos (including a live version cover of Alice Cooper's smash hit School's Out), a 32 page booklet and more.

Tracklisting (+ bonus tracks)

Devil's Hole Girls and the Big Revolution

Jesus Frankenstein

Sick Bubble-Gum

What?

Theme of an Angry Red Planet

Mars Needs Women

Werewolf, Baby!

Everything Is Boring

Virgin Witch

Death and Destiny Inside the Dream Factory

Burn

Cease To Exist

Werewolf Women of the SS

Michael

The Man Who Laughs
Nick Sixx.http://www.blogger.com/profile/16113965499816516392noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4695118792227630630.post-31496057993280518782010-08-02T18:07:00.000-07:002010-08-02T18:11:17.347-07:00Third time's a charm. So basically for a third time I have decided to write this blog up for my music interests, tastes and reviews.
